no luck

Still no luck with Jack. I met Bri at the mall parking lot at 8:30pm and stayed til 1130pm. Her and I looked all over the hillside and did not find him.

We were walking in one area - and I noticed that one of the cans of catfood I had left earlierwas licked away. I refilled it with tuna and then we heard some rustling in the woods. Her and I started calling "Jack - come here jack"....the rustling got faster and closer - and it sounded like he seemed to recognize us - even thought we couldn't see him.

We turned off our flashlights and were calling him in kitty-talk....he got closer and we could see fur! Then we noticed more rustling and more rustling....

it was a family of Raccoons!

We both cried and then laughed so hard. There were about 3-6 Raccoons sitting in front of us wondering when we were going to feed them. We dropped the food and backed off - they also backed off and scurried up an unkept palm tree...there were Raccoons along the entire trunk of this tree...and the palm trees were dancing away - there was squealing and Raccoon noises going on for about 10mins til they got to the very top.

Seriously - it was haunting!!! I felt like we were in an episode of Lost and a Polar Bear was in the tree! LOL.

After our adventures, we went back to our cars - sat on the ground - drank wine and had cheese & crackers. We talked about our pets, siblings, favourite shelter animals and teared up about the ones that we've lost.

I got in my car to drive home and bawled the whole 5minute drive home. I just hope that he's not in pain. I hope that someone has him and that they have no idea to think to take him to a vet or shelter to scan him. That's what we hold onto.

I have to agree Racoons are pretty scarry animals. One came up to my door just the other night. I am scared of them.

I hope you find Jack!! :(
