My favourite "bad-egg" kitty Felix's future at the shelter is up. Yesterday; we had to take him to the vet and he lashed out at them. He is a special-needs kitty that is TERRIFIED; and only feels comfortable with those that he trusts. I can hold him - pet him - do whatever I want to him - but he's not so accepting when other people do. I am certain that the shelter atmosphere is why he's like that.
All day - I was trying my hardest to make arrangements for Felix - to see if there was something else I could do for him. I asked my boss if I could save him somehow - and she said I could - if I took him home. DONE DEAL.
Jeff and I talked tonight and I am going to bring Felix home tomorrow - I am going to socialize him - turn the guest room into HIS ROOM - and turn him into a sound cat. I am also going to place ads for him and find him a GREAT home as soon as I am confident that he will be fine.
I love this little guy and my heart was CRACKING for this little man. He's my boy and I just can't bear to lose him. I know the reality of this job - but I can help him. He's 2yr old - a neutered male - microchipped and completely up to date on vaccines. I will take his life into my hands and not give up on him.

On ANOTHER note - we got babies in! It is officially kitten season! We already have about 8 new babies in!
We also got in these little babies....momma' was hit by a car and the babies were trying to nurse off of her. Some teenagers pulled the babies off and rushed her in to the shelter. They are going to go to a Wildlife Sanctuary where they will grow up and be released into the wild again. Can you guess what they are?

Oh my goodness my daughter and won't my room will be crowded when I visit!!!
Ummmm excuse me??? I was not consulted about whether or not I was willing to share my room with Felix ;-) I guess I will have to camp out in CLub Jeff instead!
Ummmm excuse me Tammy are you talking about my room???
Hi Barb!
Maybe the room can be both of ours? I hope Felix doesn't snore!
I'm so sad to hear about Felix - you're so sweet to take him home.
Hmmmmm, are you holding one of the babies you are talking about?? It seems a bit big to be a baby.
Ok Tammy I guess I can share I hope Felix can...hahaha
Christy the baby possums(?) are so tiny ...how many were there.
Christy,
I hope the rodents are not staying at your house too... you know I don't like rodents or birds right?
The baby opossums, (3), have been taken to a wildlife sanctuary. They were so cute - their little tails would curl around our fingers. I will post pictures of the other girls at work too.
God bless you Christy for doing what you do - you are amazing!!!!
