Geez Louise

Ok - attempt #2....I am going to write this in WORD, then paste it in here....here it goes:

...it took me a while to find my MS Word…this computer is really strange.

So Friday – was my last day at Devax. It was bittersweet. I was in fact kinda’ sad to leave the people that I’ve seen every day for the last 1yr and 8mos. They gave me a great send off and I hope to keep in touch with many of them! I’ve added them to my Facebook acct now that I’m no longer working with them.

Friday night – Jeff & I took John to dinner to Chili’s! We introduced them to our bartenders and I gave them a Christmas card. They’re cool guys down there. John gave us tickets to go to the Canucks/Ducks game last year and we never really paid him back – so dinner was a start.

Saturday – I shopped for a bit….I was able to afford to get some clothes for my new job…khakis and good boots. I hate shopping at this time of year!!!

We went to dinner with Steve & Michele to Riptide and had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!! After dinner – we took the girls over to play with Gibby; while we made Martini’s, (apparently – I can’t recall), and then played Guitar Hero!!! It was a great night with them!!! Thank you guys!!!

Monday was my first day at work and it was AMAZING!!! It was heartwarming and I just felt like I did good in the world at the end of the day!!! We adopted out 2 kittens and 1 dog. We got in 3 stray dogs and I went through the procedure on how to admit them. None of them had any form of ID which is so sad!!! I would die if my dog or cat went missing…it makes me realize that I’ve got to get the cats microchipped ASAP. I was able to vaccinate a 2month old Doberman puppy; and medicate a lot of other cats & dogs. There are about 14 kittens there right now. I love them all!!! How many times can a girl fall in-love in one day??!! SERIOUSLY!!!

Yesterday – we didn’t adopt out any pets – but I got to work with another girl with my position. There are 4 of us altogether. We will alternate days for “dogs” & “cats” – this week – being my first week I am doing “cats” to start. Basically; I go in first thing and I start cleaning cages. There are about 40 cats there right now – but I only clean cages that belong to sick cats or cats that the volunteers won’t be able to handle. The volunteers do all the rest – they’re amazing helpful people!!! I medicate and feed….I got to bathe the ringworm kittens. 3 of them look just like Simon! I glove and gown up to be safe. I’ve had ringworm before…smack dab on my forehead, my thigh and my back – It’s not fun.

I could go on and on and on and on about my job and the dogs, cats and bunnies that I’ve met – but that would get boring for everyone – so please check out the shelter’s website if you’re interested!!! I’ll be helping to take photos of the pets and helping to name them as they come in!! It’s a great job and I love it!!! www.cmvas.org

I'm so glad that you are enjoying your new job :-) I want that Doberman puppy! Can you send him to me for Christmas??

Look out for that ringworm... I got it from a litter of kittens at All Critters once. Right in the middle of my back where I couldn't even reach to scratch it!
