Yesterday - I emailed 7 photographers - asking if they were to ever need an assistant; to please conisder me - and I gave them the link to my NEW & IMPROVED portfolio, (click here).

I had so far 3 people write back with really positive comments and tell me that they use helpers/assistants that aren't always available. I was on the phone with one person last night for 2 whole hours discussing photography as a business. He was so helpful and gave me so much information! I am going to meet a few of them - I even got invited to an engagement photoshoot tomorrow night - but I will be out of town. (I'm super excited regardless)

I was told today that my last day at work will be November 3rd.

I've had some of my friends email me - tell me that I can fall back on unemployment if I don't find anything right away. Unfortunately I cannot do that. I don't qualify as I am not a permanent resident. Jeff had to sign this Affidavit of Support when we first started my Immigration proceedings that stated he would not allow me to claim ANY government assistance. sweet.

I will keep you posted on the fallout!

I checked out your new and approved online portfolio....it is fabulous!! Your profile says, "I am currently a student"....hmmm, really? And darn it, the site doesn't allow me to right click and save the pictures....I was planning on selling them as my own ;)

I had no doubt that photographers would contact you...no doubt in my mind :)

You have to answer this question: I notice under your pictures, you write things like, "f/5.6, 1/15sec, 28mm, no flash". With all the pictures that you take at one time, how do you remember this? Is every shot coded by the camera when you take a picture...is it like the properties of the picture? Does my question make sense? Perhaps I need to go to bed...my brain gets cloudy when I'm tired.

Dude.. I told you so! Great job stepping out and getting your foot in the door. And now that you can SEE, your shots should be all the more impressive!
