PAYDAY, (Cali's sick again)

- 2 weeks ago today - it was payday!
- 2 weeks ago today - cali had a foreign body ingestion

- today is payday
- today cali is vomiting/diarrhea and pooping out carpet string very painfully.

Jeff is taking her to the vet...this could be really bad as she's just passed a piece that is about 6' long, (yes 6 feet long).

When there is string in the digestive track - it acts as a drawstring...the intestines can tear and bunch up.

UPDATE

When Jeff got into the clinic - they took her back to give her an enema. She tried to go outside a few mins later - so the Dr and Techs were all involved in trying to get Cali to pass the string.

They gave her a 2nd enema and she passed some more feet of string....Jeff thinks that totally - she's passed about 30', (yes 30 feet).

They are now doing Xrays - Jeff is back at home and my poor investment is being poked and prodded.

While Jeff was away - (9 days ago.....), Cali pulled up some of the berber carpeting in the kitchen. I threw away the carpet and bought a new one before Jeff could notice. Now that our secret is out; I can post a picture.

UPDATE:

I got off work at 1pm, and went straight to the Vet. Dr. Wood showed me the Xrays, and warned me again that if Cali doesn't pass the string/gas; then she will need surgery.

I got home and the house was a mess!! Considering that our cleaner was there - Cali had accidents from the time I left home - til about 11am when Jeff got home. The couch and carpets were a mess!! Poor puppy! Thank goodness Michele said that I could use her carpet cleaner this weekend!!!

To add to it - our washing machine broke down last week when my mom was here and we haven't been able to do anything about it until today - payday. We had the plumber come in and snake the pipe in the wall...there was a huge blockage in the pipe that he cleared.

We were supposed to go over to Jeff's dads' house to celebrate Jamie's 32nd Birthday - but when I picked up Cali - Dr Wood told me that I need to closely monitor Cali and her "functions". I need to make sure we don't run into any problems in the night and if we do - we have to take her to Urgent Care. I had to stay home while Jeff went for the feast.

I need to take her back to the Vet in the morning for repeat Xrays.
