~ Fort Knox ~

Next step....barbed-wire!!!

My cat Sandy - loves to escape the yard. He took off on Friday night and Thank God I found him!!! Thank you Michele for your help!!!

The coyotes come up in the night and take just about anything they can find; so I was really worried. Actually - if any of you have seen that movie called "I Am Legend"...I was reminded of that while searching for my cat....you know when those zombie-monsters come out at night time?! yeah....

Anyway - I bought this thing that I used to sell when I worked at Anipet - it's called a Scarecrow...basically - it's a sprinkler - with a motion detector on it. I LOVE IT.

Sandy met the Scarecrow on Saturday.....to see it in action - CLICK HERE.....although it's not my video footage, (my little Canon is still broken).

I did try it on my neighbour kids too - and it works great with kids too!! LOL - is that mean? (my guess is NO - since Michele and I were both watching their reaction through the window!!!)

Jeff hasn't met my Scarecrow yet - I can't wait....I'll have to put it in various locations in the yard...switch it up when he's least expecting it!

He was born Sep 25, 1996; and I adopted him from the Vet Clinic that I worked at, when he came in as a newborn with his mom and siblings. I gave him to my Grandma Ross, and she loved him so much. When her & my Uncle Johnny passed away, I took "Sandy" back to live with me. In his prime; he weighed 18lbs and is now an indoor cat. When he first came to California, he brought a lizard into my house! In February 2008, I had to make the tough decision to remove is right eye as it was causing him a lot of pain. He's my little pirate and loves to try to get outside!

I met Felix at the Shelter I worked at. He was left at the shelter gate taped up in a cardboard box. He had EXTREME behaviour issues and they were going to euthanize him. I adopted him. He unfortunately sprayed and urinated in the house - so he ended up trying every mood altering drug out there - and even wore piddle pants in the house. For a year, I tried desperately to find a new home for him. On Dec 11, 2010; Jeff & I drove him out to his Aunts' horseranch in Murrietta to live out his life chasing critters and basking in the sun.
