~ 4th of July weekend ~

Our 4th of July weekend was more about relaxing than partying. We didn't do a heck of a lot.

On the actual day - we made it to the lake. We brought Cathie with us and just soaked up the sun. Jeff's mom ended up not coming out to Orange County that day unfortunately - I guess it was probably safer for her anyway.

We met some ducks - they were so cute and bold! Michele got busted for feeding them - the 13yr old lifeguard gave her heck! LOL - (as much as a 13yr old lifeguard can anyway).

We stayed home and listened to the Fireworks go off. We weren't able to see any - and didn't really want to get out driving anywhere.
Now that I know that July 4th is Jeffs' FAVOURITE holiday of the year - we'll do more next year!!!

I did some gardening - we have a little "housefly" issue at home - so I was spraying dishsoap and water allover the lawn and garden. I got this black widow spider and tried to rinse her off with water before she died - but the soap was too stron and got her. I put her in this glass to show the neighbourhood kids.

The girls are getting along really well. Rick installed hooks in our garage, so that we can fence off the opening of our garage with an X-pen from Jeffs' work, (THANKS RICK!!!), and let them play freely. They love it.

We are having lovely California-like weather so I am not bitter about you posting about soaking up the sun.

Cola and Cali are so cute :)

You guys all look so cute in your string bikini's!!

Christy I have another bird story for you, it just happended today, but it flew into my house. Quite funny and me and the kids pissed ourselves laughing. It was flying around in my bedroom, it flew into the wall and it was quite amusing, but of course sad but so funny. It had a sad ending, seeing that my kitty was hiding in the closet!!
:( We saved the little bird and placed him safely outside. I thought of you the whole time!! LOL!!

I have to admit, I am not sad that the spider died.....not a big spider fan.
