All in all – we had a wonderful Saturday. As you know – Jeff is out of town for the Global Pet Expo in San Diego all week; so we celebrated out Valentine’s Day on Saturday. I wanted to go down - and see the people that I used to work with and work for - but I'm going to drive out to Palm Desert to see Rich and Lucie with "Cola" and my new GPS! It's going to be a great weekend!!! I am really looking forward to seeing them again!
We got down to Dana Wharf for our excursion du jour. It was 80’F, (25’C), and we wore summer clothes. Whale watching was so much fun!! The day was so peaceful – a little hazy – but the ocean was like glass. We unfortunately didn’t see a single Whale or Dolphin – but we did see Sea Lions and met a nice Father-Daughter from Naples Florida. They came to California to go snowboarding – go figure. (They pick a different location every year).

After we got off the boat; we drove up to the cliffs and had dinner and drinks at one of the most beautiful restaurants that I’ve been to – Cannon’s in Dana Point. I had Alaskan King Crab, and Jeff had a ginormous steak! The night was perfect!
We went home and put in a movie, “The Journey of Natty Gann” – it’s an old Disney movie from the early 80’s that I used to love watching when I was a little girl. We belong to Blockbuster Online, and we have a queue that we add movies to – then they are mailed to us each time we return one. I have a lot of the good oldies on there for myself: Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Ring of Bright Water, Old Yeller...
Anyway – Tammy – here’s my post. Sorry I took so long to write – I’ve just really been enjoying the hot weather and it’s such a shame to sit inside at my computer; when I could be outside getting a tan and complaining about the heat. ;-)

I am playing a violin and getting you some cheese to go with your whine... I can't believe that you are bragging about your wonderful weather while I am freezing up here in the rainy, snowy north!
Yummmm, cheese!!
I'm happy to hear that you had a great time at Dana Wharf/Point. Looking at the pic of the couple in the little boat (or is it called a dingy?)....I didn't realize that people are allowed to get so close to the seals.
...actually they are "sea lions" - ahem. there is a difference - sea lions have vocal cords - that's why they can bark...there are more differences that I can get into later... - those people with their little JRT weren't all that smart - I would NEVER do that, as the "sea lions" could come into their boat attack them - they were lazy. Beware of Nature!
Sounds like you had a great time!! Maybe next time I come to California we could plan a trip to see the sea lions.
