Well - I left work 40mins early yesterday, (Friday), to make sure that when I got home Sandy would have time to get in to see the Vet if necc.
I got home and he was so lethargic and pale - almost yellow. I freaked out - called my Vet and they said to come down straight away.
Dr Park examined him and took some blood. She believes that the pressure on his eye - with the cold snap we're having - is just too much for him to handle. He's probably got a very very bad headache and the slightest movement or light is really causing discomfort. I was told that this time would come eventually with his 'disorder'.
He's now on Metacam for the pain - and as long as he turns around and is acting healthy again by Monday - we're going to schedule his enucleation for Tuesday. They are going to remove his eyeball. This is a surgery that I have participated in many times, and I know how straight forward it will be. His lab results showed no major abnormalities for his age. I asked Dr Park to fax me the results as well as an estimate, so I'll get those both on Monday when I get back to the office.
I took Cola for an hour-long walk down to Starbucks and back. We almost got rained on, but we made it home safely. I need to work with her a lot on her discipline - she's turning into a very spoiled dog and it's really starting to show. She's making me very mad most days.
I took her to Petco to get some more food for her and Sandy, and noticed that there was a photographer there with a backdrop. He told me to go get her and if I liked any of the shots, that I could buy them. Of course, I ended up getting an 8x10 for $15.99 and a 5x7 with 4 wallets for $12.99 - sucka! She was very good and people started to applaud when she went through her entire little routine of tricks for Chicken cookies!

Poor Sandy... but I'm sure he will feel better once the pressure is relieved with the surgery.
Keep us posted!
AND stop complaining about the rain you are getting! It is only a few days a year... suck it up! You are from BC!
Poor Sandy. Is it just me or is Sandy's good eye/left eye looking really cloudy? Is that normal? I never really look deeply into my roommates cat's eyes. Poor, poor Sandy - I hate when animals get sick :(
