Redding, CA USA - Surrey, BC CANADA (12 hours)

We left Redding at about 8am, then drove north a ways on the I-5 until we hit a Les Schwab, so that we could exchange the chains tha Jim gave us yesterday for ones that fit my tires. We paid $20.00 difference.

We got to the Siskiyou County Line at 9:28am, with our Odometer reading 646miles - immediately, we were in a Winter Wonderland. It was beautiful but luckily there was no snow on the highway.
Cola ended up vomiting again, (no more bones), and we stopped in Shasta City for a bite to eat while Cola played in the snow. It reminded me of Jasper.

At 10:36am, withour odometer at 714.9miles - we were at the Oregon State Line at the top of the Siskiyou Summit. SO BEAUTIFUL!!! It took us 10minutes to get out of the mountains and then as soon as we hit sea level, the rain started.

It rained the whole time that we drove through Oregon. 1,000 miles from Orange County NORTH is the city of Wilsonville, OR. (of course we marked that one down in the journal, and I'm blogging about it).

Exactly 4:00pm at 1,025.1 - Washington State Line. The drive through was pretty un-eventful, the rain stopped - we could see!

We got to the USA-CANADA border at 8:35pm - exactly 1,303.1 miles from home! It took 13mins to get to my mom's house.

When we pulled off 176th - to 60th Avenue, Cola started to FLIP OUT - she remembered where we were and I called home from my cellphone and my mom and Rick thought it was HILARIOUS!! It was great that Cola reacted that way - made me so happy that we brought her! She was yelping/howling and barking.

We visited until midnight, then went to bed. What a relief!!!
