We went to Jeff's friends' house in Ladera Ranch and hung out with them and their neighbours in the Cul-de-Sac. Most of the people played games and there was a lot of food. Everyone down in this part of the USA, (maybe all-over), all have "Block Parties" - they go all out with decorations, food, festivities and games.
After a few hours there, we went home to relax and Ken, Monica and Maya came over for a visit and a beer.
At about 6pm - we drove to Ladera Ranch again and found "Founders Field" to join the clan from "Juice It Up" for a festival of fireworks and food. There were sssooo many people there!!! (20,000???)
The fireworks started at about 10pm and they were awesome!! We were right under them!! It was such a maze to get out of there and get home!
Next week, July 12-19 we're having 5 houseguests, (two teenagers, one baby and Jeff's college buddies Paul and Robin), staying with us!!!! I have no idea how that's going to work out!!! it's going to be fun though!! We might be setting up the tent in the backyard!! ha ha! My poor kitten, Simon is going to be traumatized!!
That's about it...oh...I just got off the phone with my mom and she has the two little kittens from CARES at her house now. She's so excited to have them finally!!!
Oh - while Jeff and I were talking on the couch on Tuesday night, I noticed movement outside in the backyard - I got up to have a look, and the cutest baby opossum was eating bugs! Cola noticed him/her to, and went NUTS!!! Both cats started meowing and got all perky. I unfortunately didn't have my camera on me, but I went to the front yard and met him/her as she/he waddled up the side of the house, through our garden and out our gate. THAT ABSOLUTELY MADE MY NIGHT!!! I love wildlife and miss it so much!!! If I ever hear of anyone wanting to hurt or even kill anything for fun - it ticks me off so much!
