So, I am now THIRTY years old. - It’s just a number!!!!
Jeff brought me breakfast and a mocha frapuccino in bed on Friday morning. I opened up all my cards and gifts from family and friends from home. It was nice! He gave me a balloon as well – so the kitten was going nuts. “Cola” wanted to get it too, but she can’t stand up; so she milked the sympathy and got lotsa’ hugs. Jeff gave me a gift cert for JC Penny, a camera bag, (yay!!!), and a double-sided reflector!!! It was awesome!!!
We then had some running around to do for a little bit. A little cleaning. Jeff’s mom was going to spend the night on Friday after the party – so we just wanted to pick up a little. My neighbour came over with the kids to drop off a plate of brownies and some home made Birthday cards! It was very sweet! The kids made them all themselves!
We made it to Brad’s house in Rancho Santa Margarita, and Jeff did so much running around for the party. All of Sue’s friends were there and poor Jeff did most of the work on his own. I felt bad for him. Brianna and Jason showed up as a “surprise” and they made me a cake!!! It was so sweet!! Jeff’s mom was there; but his Dad and Carol did not come.
The next morning, Jeff left for China until Tuesday; and Judi and I went for breakfast with the gang from the night before. After that; we went to JC Penny to use my gift certificates!! I was starting my new job today – and I wanted to have some more clothes! Michele gave me a cute little shirt on Wednesday as well!
After the shopping spree; we drove down to Laguna Beach to look for dolphins. We did not see any – but we had so much fun anyway! I took some photos of her and found a baby gecko on the sand that I had to move to the rocks so it wouldn’t get eaten. She dropped me off, and then I went to lie down in bed.
On Sunday; Jim and Carol came to Mission Viejo to take me to breakfast. It was nice – we went to P.F. Chang’s and shared a couple of appetizers. I then went home to organize and lie in bed and veg-out to prepare for my first day of work.
Jeff phoned me and told me that he has been asked to stay in China for another few days. He will be home on Friday afternoon. He’s doing a tour of all three factories where all three different things are made. Today he’s going to the Dog house place to learn the process of the manufacturing. Tomorrow he goes to the Metal place, then the next day he goes to the bed place.
My dad phoned to tell me that he’s able to come down here from Nov 9-12. He’s going to fly to Orange County and spend the weekend here! Rich and Lucie wanted to see him; but Lucie told me that they unfortunately won’t be in town that weekend!
Today I started my new job! Very cool!!! I like it a lot. I met a few nice people. I felt so icky though, b/c I put too much gel in my hair; and accidentally missed that there was a big glob in the front. The whole front of my hair was solid. I’m going to shower tonight, so I don’t have to rush so much tomorrow. I wake up @ 5:45am. Jeff called me to wake me up – and Jim called me as well! I am going to get my own desk in a cubicle! It’s a very nice place! It’s HUGE!!!
I haven’t heard from my mom in a few days. I know that they took a riverboat cruise up the Yangtze River – so she’ll be staying in Shanghai tonight and I expect to hear from her when I wake up.
Speaking of – I have very unreliable internet connection now. For some reason – whenever Jeff is out of town – something horrible happens to us! I can’t get online for all but 5mins at a time IF THAT!!! It has been very frustrating. I am writing this on Word and going to paste it into my blog.
…by the way – I took my written driver’s exam on Thursday and failed!!! I hope to pass it on Thursday!
We also took “Cola” to an Orthopedic Specialist in Orange and they wanted us to drop $700 to get some pre-operative procedures done and out of the way. YES – she definitely needs surgery for sure; and it will cost us anywhere from $3,200-$3,800. They do not finance, so we left without doing or booking anything. When Jeff gets home from China – he will take her to another Orthopedic Specialist to see what they say. They offer financing – with free interest for a year. http://www.vssoc.com/
Well, I’m ending this one here – I know it’s just so brief – I just wanted to be sure that I had something interesting to email my mom!
